What he said about the passport and visa

Asked whether he had collected his passport from the U.S. embassy, Berisha said the documents are still there and that so far he has not received any notification regarding the passport.

His statement comes at a time when he himself has recently made public his intention to travel to the United States, drawing political and media interest over how this move is being handled.

No meeting planned at the State Department

Berisha said he has not planned any meeting at the U.S. Department of State. This is the version he gave of his agenda in the United States, while no further details were presented regarding institutional contacts in Washington.

At this point, his statement is limited to denying a meeting at the State Department, without providing additional information on whether there will be other political or official meetings during the visit.

Mentioned destination: Texas

According to today’s statement, the planned destination is Texas. Berisha said he intends to take part in a conference of American Republicans as part of a delegation of the International Democratic Union.

The announcement of this trip came after he had made public two days earlier his plan to go to the United States.

The political message of the public appearance

During the same statement, Berisha attacked the majority, claiming that it is distributing “1.5 billion euros to its local thieves” in violation of the electoral law.

He also said that the Democratic Party is preparing to present its candidates and linked the current focus to engagement in the election campaign, presenting this as the main priority at the moment.

For now, the public statements indicate that the documents for travel to the United States have still not been returned to him and that the agenda he has announced does not include a meeting at the U.S. Department of State.

It remains to be seen whether the visit to Texas will take place according to the announced plan and what concrete form his participation in the conference of American Republicans will take.
