Albania’s Parliament returns to work this Tuesday after the summer break, but the opening of the new parliamentary session is being accompanied by tension outside the building. As lawmakers are expected to gather at 17:00, the area around Parliament has been placed under heightened security measures and access routes have been restricted by the State Police.

Lawmakers will gather this Tuesday in the plenary chamber for the opening of the autumn session. The return comes after the summer suspension of parliamentary work.
