A suspected poisoning case involving a group of children at Kindergarten No. 2 in Korça has raised questions that still have not received a full answer. Although the initial version from the institutions says conditions were within standards and tests found no bacterial contamination, parents say there has been no direct explanation or transparency about what really happened.

Parents seek explanations after the alarm at the kindergarten
Concern among the parent community remains high after the suspected poisoning episode. Parents and grandparents who have accompanied children to the kindergarten have expressed fear over the situation and called for more accountability, increased inspections and institutional clarification.
According to parents, they have not been contacted by the kindergarten’s management in recent days to be clearly informed about what happened and what measures were taken. It is precisely this lack of communication that has increased distrust and demands for more concrete answers.
At the kindergarten gates, another version of the case
On Monday morning, some parents tried to get explanations at the kindergarten. According to them, the management claimed the case could be linked to a seasonal virus.
This explanation does not appear to have reassured family members, who are asking that any such claim be backed by official clarification and not partial versions given at the entrance to the institution.
What the tests so far show
According to official notices from the ISHP Directorate, monitoring was carried out at the kindergarten and hygienic-sanitary conditions were found to be within standards.
Samples of food and water were also taken, while bacteriological analyses did not show bacterial contamination. This means that at this stage, no bacterial source has been identified that would explain the suspected case.
Further tests expected on the cause of the episode
AKU has also taken food samples and sent them to ISUV for further analysis. According to the institutions, these results are expected to help determine the cause of the episode that raised alarm at the Korça kindergarten.
Until then, the case remains unclear: the first tests rule out bacterial contamination, but still do not provide a final answer about what happened to the children.
For parents, the issue is not closed by the formula that standards were respected. What is being sought is a full, verifiable and clearly communicated explanation for the families who faced the alarm.
Until the cause is officially determined, the suspicions remain, along with pressure for greater transparency from the responsible institutions.
