Patrols in several areas of the capital

Since the morning, police forces have patrolled different parts of Tirana, continuing the same pattern followed in recent days.

According to the police, these movements are linked to identifying people who may become involved in incidents during the protest. However, at this stage no concrete element has been made public beyond the suspicions raised by the blue uniforms themselves.

Two young men were stopped near the University Corps building, as can also be seen in footage published from the scene.

The young men were not seen resisting during the stop, and were then questioned by officers at the scene.

Shqiponja Forces on the ground

Shqiponja Forces were also involved in the operation, carrying out the stop of the two young men.

So far there is no information about any formalized charge against them, while the police actions are based, at least publicly, on the suspicion that they may be violent protesters.

The increased police presence and preventive escorts are becoming a repeated practice in the capital whenever there is tension around protests.

In the absence of fuller information on the specific reasons for the stops, it remains to be seen whether these actions will be accompanied by formal procedures or remain only at the level of on-the-ground checks.
