The Fier court has upheld the security measures for three girls suspected of assaulting a 17-year-old, a case that has sparked public reaction and renewed questions about the institutional handling of violence among minors.

What the court decided
At the hearing to review the security measures, the court accepted the request of the Fier Prosecutor’s Office and decided to keep in force the measure of “arrest in prison” for 19-year-old Lionela Lamaj, who is suspected of being involved in the incident.
For the two other minors, the court confirmed different measures: for one 15-year-old, “house arrest,” while for the other, “temporary hospitalization in a psychiatric hospital.”
The decision is based on the authorities’ version
According to the authorities, these measures were set taking into account the age of each of the suspects and the degree of their involvement in the incident under investigation.
At this stage, the institutions have not made public further details on how the role of each of the girls in the episode of violence was assessed.
A case that has caused public reaction
The incident has prompted numerous reactions in public opinion, not only because of the reported violence against the minor, but also because the moment is suspected to have been filmed.
However, beyond the official announcement on the security measures, several full circumstances of the case remain unclear.
The investigation continues under the direction of the Prosecution
According to the official version, the investigation to fully clarify the incident is continuing under the direction of the Fier Prosecutor’s Office.
At this procedural stage, the court’s decisions concern the security measures and do not constitute a final examination of the guilt of the suspected persons.
The investigation is expected to further clarify the circumstances of the episode and the specific responsibilities of each of the suspects.
