Dinamo were beaten 1-0 away to Audas in the third qualifying round of the Conference League, but the narrow result keeps alive their hopes of a comeback in the return leg. Even though they finished the match with one player less, the Albanian side did not retreat and left the tie open for the next 90 minutes.
A balanced match, decided only in the second half
The first half was played at a cautious tempo by both teams, in a contest where balance dominated more than clear danger in front of goal.
Dinamo managed to keep the hosts’ efforts under control, while Audas did not find many openings to threaten effectively until after the break.
Audas goal changed the picture of the match
The decisive moment came in the 68th minute, when after an assist from Daskevics, Bamba Diedhiou scored the goal that gave the Latvian side the advantage.
That moment was enough for Audas to claim the first win of this tie, in a match where the real difference on the pitch was not reflected in a heavy scoreline.
The red card complicated Dinamo’s night
Only three minutes after the goal, the situation worsened for the Albanian side. Frenk Perndreca was shown a red card in the 71st minute, leaving Dinamo with 10 men for the remainder of the match.
In such a game, the numerical disadvantage could have been a decisive blow, but Dinamo did not fall apart and did not allow the match to slip any further away.
The chances remain open for the return at Elbasan Arena
Even with one player less, the Blues pushed for an equaliser and created dangerous situations in the hosts’ area, showing that the tie remains playable.
Everything will now be decided in a week at Elbasan Arena, where Dinamo will try to overturn the narrow 1-0 deficit and secure a place in the Conference League play-off round.
The away defeat does not put Dinamo out of the race.
With only one goal separating the sides, the return leg in Elbasan remains the point at which the fate of qualification will truly be decided.
