For the 68th consecutive day, the protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office returned to central Tirana with the same political demands and the same message against the establishment. The evening gathering was initially held in Skanderbeg Square and then moved in front of the government building.
Gathering in central Tirana and march toward the Prime Minister’s Office
As on previous evenings, protesters gathered in Skanderbeg Square before marching toward the Prime Minister’s Office.
In front of the government building, they continued with chants and speeches from an improvised podium beneath the office of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The demands remain the same after 68 days
The message of the protest has not changed: participants are calling for the removal of what they consider the old political class.
They also repeated their demand for the creation of a technical government, presenting it as a political solution to the situation they denounce.
A prolonged protest with an entirely political focus
The fact that the protest has entered its 68th day shows unusual consistency in pace, even though its demands have so far remained on the political level and without any sign of reflection from the institutions.
