Another serious episode has emerged in the scandal surrounding the Durrës Post Office. Erald Kapri, an MP from the Mundësia Party, claims he was threatened by phone by the husband of the institution’s former director after he made public denunciations about missing money and the consequences for pensioners.

The MP’s allegation
Kapri made the claim public through a statement, saying the threatening phone call came after he had reacted to the issue of the Durrës Post Office.
According to the MP’s version, the person who called him was the husband of the former director of the Durrës Post Office, Elisabeta Mataj.
Accusations over money and pensions
In his statement, Kapri links the threat to allegations he had previously made about the theft of a large sum of money at this institution.
He claims the former director “stole 3 million euros in garbage bags” and that the situation has left pensioners without their pensions. These are accusations he has made publicly and not a verified finding in this statement.
The phrase Kapri says he was told on the phone
According to Kapri, the message delivered over the phone was direct: “Stop talking about this issue or you will see.”
The allegation raises questions not only about pressure on an MP who denounces matters publicly, but also about how allegations linked to public money and essential services such as pension payments are handled.
A case that requires institutional verification
The case adds to the need for official clarification, both regarding the alleged threat and the accusations raised about the Durrës Post Office.
When a denunciation involves public money, an institution that serves pensioners, and then claims of intimidation, the minimum expectation is a response from the responsible bodies with transparency and full verification.
So far, only MP Kapri’s position has been made public in this case.
It remains for the competent institutions to clarify whether any procedure has begun regarding the alleged threat and the accusations raised against the former director of the Durrës Post Office.
