The OMONIA organization has raised serious accusations against the Socialist Party (PS) candidate for the Municipality of Himara, Vangjel Tavo, alleging that he has been bringing in family members and acquaintances to vote in the village of Borsh to influence the election.
According to a statement released by OMONIA, Tavo has brought in these individuals to secure a manipulated victory.The statement by OMONIA also mentions the name of the former mayor of Dropull, Ahilea Decka, who, along with his family, has transferred his residence to the Municipality of Himara. Additionally, Vangjel Tavo’s brother, Grigor Tavo, is listed as a voter. “You fools, you can’t win Himara with migrants from Dropull,” OMONIA sharply emphasizes.
The Imported Candidate with a Manipulated ListOMONIA’s statement begins with a call for reflection addressed to voters and Himariots, criticizing the PS candidate, Vangjel Tavo, as an imported candidate from Dropull without the support and real contribution to Himara.
According to them, Tavo is supported by interest groups aiming for beaches, lands, and financial benefits in the Municipality of Himara.Besides accusations of manipulating voter lists, OMONIA publishes the names of several individuals registered as voters in Borsh, who have no connection to Himara and do not live in the area.
Among these names are Grigor Tavo, Harrallmb Tavo, and Pavllo Tavo, as well as the family of the former mayor of Dropull, Ahilea Kristofor Decka.Call for JusticeOMONIA calls on the competent authorities to intervene and stop these election manipulations, warning that “Bregu is a harsh place” and that those who attempt to manipulate the elections will not escape justice.
The organization also emphasizes that Petro Gjikuria, a native of Dhermi and heroic Himara, will be the new mayor of the Municipality of Himara.

“Friends, voters, Himariots, Albanians wherever you are, engaged or unengaged in the campaign, supporters, neutrals, indifferent, party members, those who love democracy, and those who do not, take a moment to reflect… V. Tavo, the candidate of the ruling party for Mayor of Himara, imported from Dropull to govern Himara because the sons of Bregu and Himara ‘ran out’, has entered this campaign absolutely forced, without the support of the Himariots, without any real contribution to Himara, without any contribution to its people, supported by dubious connections and interest groups aiming for the beaches, lands, and salaries in the Municipality. V. Tavo came because he is the soldier of Prime Minister Rama who wants to crush the spirit of Himara…”
OMONIA concludes its statement with an appeal for justice and support for Petro Gjikuria as the new mayor of the Municipality of Himara, emphasizing that Himara will not allow election manipulation and will fight for democracy and justice.
