SPAK says it is not seeking only the freezing of the plane linked to Ermal Beqiraj, but the seizure of any assets he may have in France. The statement was made by SPAK chief Klodian Braho, while extradition procedures to Albania are also moving forward in parallel against Beqiraj.
Braho: The request includes all assets
Asked about the possibility of seizing the plane flown by Ermal Beqiraj, over whose ownership questions were raised, Braho said the request by Albanian authorities in France is not limited to a single vehicle.
According to his statement, this is a process that is still ongoing and includes any asset the person under investigation owns in that country. Braho underlined that it is not only about planes, but also other assets.
Process in France still without final notification
According to SPAK’s official version, notification on this procedure is expected to be issued soon, indicating that the seizure steps are not yet considered complete.
Precisely because the procedure is still underway, it remains to be seen which assets will be identified and whether the French authorities will fully accept the requests sent by the Albanian side.
Beqiraj’s arrest and the “AKSHI” case file
Ermal Beqiraj was arrested in France following an international request by SPAK within the framework of the “AKSHI” case file. He faces charges for several criminal offenses, while further details on the full content of the accusations were not made public in this statement.
Meanwhile, Albanian authorities have started procedures for his extradition. The case remains tied not only to criminal liability, but also to the verification and freezing of assets that may be in his name abroad.
