A fire that broke out above the area known as Matomare, in the territory of the Municipality of Finiq, has gone out of control, while the flames are advancing toward areas near the villages. According to the official version, a large-scale operation involving forces from several structures is continuing on the ground, with intervention also from the air.
Blaze above Matomare, situation reported out of control
The fire was activated during the day today in the Matomare area, in the Municipality of Finiq. At this stage, the situation is reported as problematic, with flames that have gone out of control and are advancing toward residential areas.
The level of risk on the ground remains high, while management of the fire front is relying on the simultaneous intervention of several structures.
Firefighters from several municipalities and 50 volunteers on the ground
According to the published information, firefighting forces from Delvina, Finiq and Konispol have been engaged in the operation. They have also been joined by 50 volunteers.
The scale of the deployment shows that the fire is not being handled easily on the ground, making the situation particularly sensitive for the area.
Armed Forces helicopters also involved
The operation also includes 40 members of the Armed Forces. According to the official announcement, three helicopters are intervening from the air: two Cougar aircraft and one Black Hawk.
These assets are being used to isolate and extinguish the flames, in an effort to slow the fire’s advance.
Operational structures continue intervention
According to information reported from the ground, all operational structures are continuing work to bring the fire under control.
So far, there is no other public information on the consequences or the extent of the damage, while the focus remains on containing the flames and protecting the endangered areas.
The situation in Finiq remains critical, with intervention continuing both on the ground and from the air.
