Rumors linking Lautaro Martinez with Barcelona have received a direct response from the top of Inter. Giuseppe Marotta said shortly before the match against Monza that the Nerazzurri captain is not for sale, in an attempt to shut down the speculation that has circulated in recent days in the Spanish media.

Marotta shuts down Lautaro-to-Barcelona rumors: Inter captain is not for sale

Inter’s firm stance on Lautaro

The Inter president spoke clearly about the future of the Argentine striker, whose name has recently been circulating in the transfer market.

“Lautaro is our captain and represents the current history of Inter. What I can say is that the conditions do not exist for him to leave Inter. There should not even be any talk of this,” Marotta told DAZN.

Barcelona remains only at the reporting stage

Marotta’s statement runs counter to the reports that have recently emerged from Spain, where Lautaro has been included in possible scenarios involving Barcelona.

At this stage, the Italian club’s position is clear: Inter does not consider the departure of its captain to be a real option.

Inter leaves the door open only for favorable market opportunities

Beyond the Lautaro issue, Marotta admitted that the club is monitoring the market for any possible attacking addition.

According to him, Inter remains alert to every opportunity, in coordination with the coach and with the support of the owners, while further investment is not ruled out if the right opportunity arises.

Few changes, more continuity

Marotta stressed that Inter has been built with a logic of stability rather than revolution from one season to the next.

He acknowledged that the club has also had to deal with the age issue of some players, who were let go with regret, while footballers with experience and trophies in their careers have been brought in.

In essence, Inter’s message is straightforward: beyond the transfer-market noise, Lautaro Martinez remains a central part of the Nerazzurri project.

At least for now, any path leading the Argentine striker to Barcelona has been ruled out by the Italian club’s own leadership.
