The killing of 45-year-old Albanian woman Lulieta Obzova in Athens has raised serious questions about warning signs that, according to her family, had existed for a long time. While Greek authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crime, testimony from relatives speaks of previous threats, constant fear and suspicions that the woman was being stalked by her former partner.
Brother: I asked her to seek a protection order
The victim’s brother told Greek media that the 45-year-old woman’s former partner, 50-year-old Altin Allmuça, had threatened her before. According to him, on one occasion he had even pulled out a weapon.
The family member said he had asked his sister to consult a lawyer and obtain a protection order, suggesting that the family’s concern was not new but was linked to a risk they had perceived for some time.
After the separation, the fear was said to have become daily
According to relatives’ testimony, the relationship between the two had deteriorated after the separation and had become a constant source of insecurity for the 45-year-old woman.
The family’s account is that she was suspected of being followed and monitored by her former partner, who would appear in her life without warning. Suspicions of entry into the home and changing the locks
The victim’s brother also said that the 50-year-old was suspected of having a spare key to the apartment and entering the home while the woman was at work.
According to him, Lulieta had noticed that various items were no longer where she had left them. For this reason, about two weeks before the killing, she had decided to change the locks on the house. For the family, this is a clear indication of the fear she was experiencing even within her private space.
How the crime happened and what is being verified
According to the information available so far, the killing happened in the early hours of the morning. Authorities suspect that the 50-year-old waited for the victim outside the apartment building where she lived and attacked her as soon as she appeared.
According to the authorities’ version, he overpowered her at the entrance of the building and then shot her with a firearm. After the crime, he also killed himself.
One of the main issues being verified is whether there had been previous information linking the 45-year-old woman to a concrete risk. So far, it is said that she had not filed an official complaint about the threats and stalking that the family claims she had experienced.

A review of Greek police records found an incident from July 2024, when the woman had contacted the Acropolis Police Department to report the theft of her motorcycle by a former partner, without identifying him by name.
