A shocking incident has struck the village of Zhymë, in the Krutje administrative unit of Lushnjë, where a 45-year-old man is suspected of attacking his parents with an axe. The 80-year-old mother died in the attack, while the 77-year-old father was seriously injured and is in hospital.

The serious incident in Zhymë
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on Monday evening at around 9:20 p.m. Authorities say 45-year-old Florion Dalladaku is suspected of striking his mother, Fanije Dalladaku, 80, with an axe.
The elderly woman did not survive her injuries, while during the same episode his father, Hasan Dalladaku, 77, was also seriously injured. He was transported to hospital and is receiving medical treatment.
Escape and arrest in Fier
After the attack, the suspect left the home in his father’s car, a blue Ford vehicle. According to the preliminary version, he was caught about an hour later in the city of Fier.
The circumstances of his movements after leaving the scene and the way he was located by police remain part of the investigation.
Investigation into the conflict and the suspect’s condition
Initial information points to a conflict that is suspected to have first started with the 45-year-old’s brother, who had returned a few days earlier from Italy, where he lives as an emigrant.
Also according to preliminary information, investigators suspect that the arrested man has mental health problems. A previous incident is also being verified, in which he is suspected of having tried to attack a person with the same tool.
What remains unclear
So far, authorities have not provided a full account of the motive and the exact sequence of the incident. Beyond the first announcements, it remains to be clarified what preceded the outbreak of violence within the family.
