After tensions and the blocking of major roads the previous evening, the 103rd protest in Tirana unfolded in a more restrained tone. However, the core message did not change: outside the Prime Minister’s Office, calls were repeated for the removal of the entire political class and the establishment of a transitional government.
From escalation back to the usual route
The latest gathering began with the same pattern as in previous days, from Skanderbeg Square toward the Prime Minister’s Office. This time, unlike the previous evening when major roads in the capital were blocked, the protest was held without similar episodes of tension.
This return to the usual march shows that the escalation of the previous night was not repeated, at least at this stage of the gathering.
The same political demands outside the government building
From the boulevard and later outside the Prime Minister’s Office, strong political demands were again heard. Protesters called for the removal of the entire political class and the creation of a transitional government.
The protest’s message remained unchanged even on its 103rd day, shifting the focus not to a single demand, but to broad opposition to the current political order.
Calls for broader participation and road blockades
Although the gathering was calmer, there was no shortage of calls to block roads. Protesters also called on every Albanian to come out to the square, in an effort to expand participation beyond the protest’s current core.
In the same vein, calls were also directed at students to join the protest, as part of the mobilization for the coming days.
National protest announced for Saturday
The 103rd evening ended with a march through the streets of Tirana. Meanwhile, a national protest in the square has been announced for Saturday.
According to the announcement made by the protesters, the diaspora is also expected to join that gathering, in a move aimed at giving the protest broader political and symbolic reach.
Despite the calmer tone of this evening, the demands and calls from the square show that the protest is trying to maintain political pressure ahead of the announced national gathering.
It remains to be seen whether Saturday’s mobilization will actually bring broader participation or remain at the level of the calls that have also been repeated in recent days.
