Albania faced 30 fire hotspots during the day, while seven of them remain active, according to the tally reported by emergency structures. The most problematic area is Mount Dajti, where the flames are continuing and the intervention is also being supported by the Armed Forces.
Day’s tally: 30 hotspots, but not all have been closed
According to the official situation summary, 30 fire hotspots were recorded across the country during the day. Of these, 13 are reported to have been fully extinguished, while another 10 are being kept under monitoring.
This means that a considerable part of the affected territory remains under the attention of the structures on the ground, despite the optimistic tallies that usually accompany institutional announcements. At present, seven hotspots continue to be considered active.
Dajti remains the most problematic hotspot in Tirana
In Tirana County, according to the authorities, the most difficult situation continues to be on Mount Dajti. Work to isolate and control the flames continued there throughout the day.
Twenty-five firefighters, seven personnel from the Protected Areas Administration, and 52 members of the Armed Forces have been engaged in this operation, supported by six vehicles and one ambulance.
The official version says the fire in Dajti does not pose a risk to inhabited areas; however, the fact that this hotspot remains active keeps the situation at a worrying level.
The army and local structures on the ground
Nationwide, 404 central and local personnel, as well as 21 firefighting vehicles, have been engaged in the response. The operations have also been supported by the Armed Forces.
According to the reported data, the army has made available 133 personnel, one helicopter, two firefighting vehicles, one drone, 13 vehicles, and one ambulance. The presence of these capacities shows that the fires are not being treated as isolated episodes, but as a situation requiring broader institutional engagement.
Bërzhita and Mali me Gropa also under monitoring
Authorities say the hotspots on Bërzhita Mountain and in Mali me Gropa have been isolated. However, they continue to be kept under monitoring by teams on the ground.
This implies that the risk of reactivation is not considered closed, especially under conditions that favor the spread of flames. For now, operational structures are focusing on extinguishing the active hotspots and preventing their expansion.
The fire situation remains unresolved in several areas of the country, with Dajti as the day’s most sensitive point. The tally presented by the institutions shows a high level of engagement on the ground, but also the fact that some of the hotspots have still not been brought out of danger.
