Prime Minister Edi Rama traveled to Italy to take part in the inauguration of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Albania in Naples, a move the government presents as a strengthening of its institutional presence among Albanians in southern Italy.
What the consulate in Naples represents
According to the official announcement, the Honorary Consulate in Naples will be headed by Honorary Consul Giuseppe Lettieri and will have jurisdiction over the Campania region.
The government claims that this structure will serve as a reference point for the Albanian community, helping provide services and expand economic, cultural and social ties between Albania and Italy.

In addition to the inauguration ceremony, Rama is also expected to visit the Chair of Albanian Language at the University of L’Orientale in Naples.
The program also includes a stop at Parthenope University, where he will take part in a reception focused on cooperation relations between Italy and Albania.

The visit is expected to conclude with a meeting with the rectors of Naples universities.
According to the official version, Rama and Minister Kumbaro will discuss opportunities for synergies with Albanian universities within the framework of internationalization.
