Kosovo Headed for Elections? PDK Rejects Kurti’s Offer, Hamza Accuses Vetëvendosje

PDK says no to Kurti’s offer

PDK leader Bedri Hamza appeared at an extraordinary press conference after the offer made by Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti and made it clear that his party does not accept it.

According to Hamza’s statements, an agreement cannot be imposed in the final hours, while he insisted that the issues under discussion are not interconnected. He said the delays are making it almost impossible to pass the law in two readings within the time remaining.

The debate over Bekim Sejdiu

Part of Hamza’s response focused on the name of Bekim Sejdiu. The PDK leader said this does not constitute an agreement with his party.

According to Hamza’s account, it is an agreement with another political entity and not with PDK. He claimed the agreement is with LDK and described it as a development made outside PDK’s table.

Political accusations against Vetëvendosje

In his statement, Hamza attributed responsibility for the situation to Vetëvendosje. According to him, the country is again heading to elections because of this force’s political approach.

He accused Vetëvendosje of wanting to keep everything for itself, including things that, according to him, do not belong to it. This remains a political accusation by PDK at a moment when the sides are reading the crisis from completely opposing angles.

A few hours before the mandate ends

The clash comes at a time when only a few hours remain until the end of the mandate, increasing uncertainty over the path Kosovo’s political process will take.

If no political solution is produced in the final minutes, the country appears to be approaching another electoral showdown, in a climate where each side is trying to pin responsibility for the blockage on the other.

PDK’s rejection of the offer deepens the impasse and makes it even clearer that compromise between the sides remains distant.

For now, Kosovo’s political landscape is dominated by mutual accusations, closing deadlines and the real risk that the crisis will end in new elections.
