Heavy rainfall that has affected Kukës County since yesterday afternoon has created problems on several national roads, where rocks and debris have been reported on the carriageway. In the city of Kukës, the situation has been worsened by fog, which has reduced visibility and increased difficulties for drivers.

Rockfalls on several key road axes
During the night, the rainfall was more intense, causing rocks and debris to fall on several of the main road axes in the north.
Problems were identified on the Valbonë, Fierzë–Bajram Curri, Qafë Morinë, Kam–Krumë, Kukës–Qafë Mali axes, as well as on the roads toward Shishtavec and Bushtricë.
Increased risk for traffic
The presence of rocks on the road poses a direct risk to road safety, especially on segments where travel is taking place under difficult weather conditions.
In the city of Kukës, fog that appeared during the morning significantly reduced visibility, making traffic even more difficult.
Intervention on the ground and unstable weather
According to the official version, road maintenance workers began work in the early morning hours to remove rocks and debris, with the aim of normalizing traffic.
Meteorological forecasts indicate that unstable weather is expected to continue in Kukës County throughout the weekend, keeping the risk of further road problems in place.
Under these conditions, drivers should travel with increased caution, especially on mountain segments and on the axes where rockslides have appeared.
The situation on the ground remains closely linked to the intensity of the rainfall and the speed of intervention in problematic areas.
