Tensions have returned outside the Ministry of Education, where the second day of the student protest is taking place in Tirana. PD lawmaker Bardh Spahia was also present at the gathering, interpreting the protest’s political message as a demand for the government’s removal.

Second day of protest marked by tensions outside the ministry
This Wednesday as well, just like a day earlier, clashes and tensions were again present outside the Ministry of Education during the student protest in the capital.
Footage from the scene and the version made public point to an aggravated situation on the line facing the institution, as the protest enters its second day.
Spahia calls for unity around the protest
From the protest, opposition lawmaker Bardh Spahia called for as many citizens as possible to join the students at the gathering.
He said the young people are opposing the government and presented their participation as a reaction to what he described as a corrupt government.
Debate over slogans at the protest
Asked about the slogans heard at the protest, including the chants “Rama to prison, Berisha to prison,” Spahia sought to shift the focus to the gathering’s political objective.
According to him, the essence of the protest remains the removal of the government, while participants are free to express their individual views.
Accusations of police violence
The PD lawmaker also said that the opposition’s presence at the protest is intended, in his view, to restrain police violence against participants.
In the same statement, he said the protesters are tired after 130 days of peaceful protest, presenting the situation as a prolonged confrontation between protesting citizens and state institutions.
The protest outside the Ministry of Education is continuing in a tense atmosphere, while the political messages being attached to the gathering show that the confrontation is no longer confined only to the students’ demands.
Beyond the statements of the sides, attention remains on how the protest is being managed on the ground and on the response of institutions to a mobilization entering its second day.
