Artan Fuga on the protests: The government must not buy time, but provide political solutions

Professor Artan Fuga has reacted to the protests of recent days with a direct message to the government and the political class, arguing that the situation cannot be resolved through avoidance or cosmetic management, but through a deep political solution. At the center of his position are university and high school students, whom he considers the most cultured and most emancipated voices of this movement.

Artan Fuga on the protests: The government must not buy time, but provide political solutions

Fuga singles out university and high school students

In his public reaction, Fuga says that university and high school students represent the most cultured, most emancipated and most interested forces in justice, social peace and stability.

According to him, this part of the youth has the right to demand a clearer future in Albania, and its voice should be heard with respect, without maneuvers and without attempts to relativize the protest.

A call for political solutions, not intervention among protesters

Fuga raises his tone toward the political class, members of parliament and the current government, calling on them to understand without delay that the country, in his view, needs a major political solution.

In the same reaction, he opposes what he describes as unacceptable penetration and infiltration among the protesters, implying that attempts to control or divert public discontent do not answer the crisis.

Political accusation over loss of trust

The professor says that society’s trust in governance and political actors has long been exhausted. According to him, this comes after repeated warnings from various voices in society that the political, economic, social and educational system produces crisis.

From this perspective, the protests are not presented as an isolated episode, but as a symptom of a deeper dissatisfaction with the way the country has been administered.

Final message to those in power

Fuga stresses that Albania and the values of a modern society with individual and collective rights are above any power and above any officeholder.

He concludes his reaction with the idea that mandates derive from the will of the citizens and not from the privilege of power, warning that political and historical responsibility cannot be avoided indefinitely.

His reaction comes at a time when the protests are being interpreted in different ways by politics, while the main demand emerging from this position is clear: in the face of public discontent, according to Fuga, neither justifications nor crisis management are enough; what is required is a real political response.
