Tensions rose near the U.S. Embassy after protesters threw stones at the guard booth, shortly after attacking a second-tier bank opposite the diplomatic building. According to reports, the stones did not hit the interior areas of the embassy, but only the outer booth.

Attack on a bank opposite the embassy
According to reports from the scene, protesters first stopped at a second-tier bank located opposite the U.S. Embassy and vandalized it.
After the damage, the bank’s alarm was triggered and its sound was heard throughout the area, further increasing tensions in the surrounding perimeter.
The guard booth was then hit
After the attack on the bank, stones were also thrown toward the booth where the U.S. Embassy guards are stationed.
According to the version reported from the scene, the blows were directed only at the booth, which is partly made of glass, and not at the embassy’s interior premises.
No people were reported inside at the time of the strike
At the moment the booth was hit with stones, there were no people inside it.
At this stage, the information made public points to material damage, while it remains to be seen how this episode will be handled by the security structures responsible for one of the capital’s most sensitive areas.
The incident once again highlights how quickly the situation can spiral out of control in such protests, especially when violence shifts near sites with high security sensitivity.
For the moment, the publicly released information points to damage to a financial institution and to the guard booth near the embassy.
