The balance of the last 24 hours once again highlights the fragility of efforts to contain fires on the ground. According to the Ministry of Defense, 26 fire outbreaks have been reported across the country, while 4 of them remain active. The area presenting the greatest difficulty remains Mount Dajti, where reactivations and an expansion of the flames have been recorded.
Official tally: 4 active outbreaks, 2 under monitoring
The official version speaks of 26 fire outbreaks reported during the last 24 hours across the territory of Albania. Of these, 4 remain active and 2 others are under monitoring.
For operations on the ground, according to the institutions, 315 operational personnel and 25 fire engines have been engaged. Four helicopters have also been used in support, along with 75 members of the Armed Forces.
Dajti continues to remain the hottest spot
The biggest concern is reported on Mount Dajti, especially in the direction of Qafë-Priskë. There, fire reactivations and an expansion of the fire zone have been identified, showing that the situation remains unstable despite intervention on the ground.
For today’s operation in this area, 15 firefighters, 9 AdZM personnel and 20 members of the Armed Forces have been engaged.
Dibër with several outbreaks still active
In Dibër County, the outbreaks in Qafë e Helmës, Vajkal and Sllatinë remain active. In Vajkal, 38 personnel from the fire service and the municipality are operating together with 30 members of the Armed Forces.
In Sllatinë, according to the official report, 91 personnel have been deployed. For this area, it is said that there is no risk to populated zones, although the fire remains active.
Elbasan under observation, earthquake also recorded overnight in Delvinë
In Elbasan County, the outbreaks on Mount Dardha and Mount Qukës are being kept under monitoring. According to the authorities, they do not pose a risk to populated areas.
An earthquake of magnitude ML 4.7 was also recorded overnight, with its epicenter in the administrative unit of Vergo, in the municipality of Delvinë. So far, no issues in the community or damage to infrastructure have been reported.
The National Civil Protection Agency says it is monitoring the situation across the country in coordination with prefectures and municipalities.
On the ground, the challenge remains controlling outbreaks that reactivate, especially in difficult areas such as Dajti, where even a high number of deployed forces has still not been enough to bring the situation out of danger.
