A large fire in Margëlliç has been brought under control after more than four hours of intervention, while the flames had advanced near homes, oil wells and as far as the village cemetery. So far, the preliminary toll points to burned olive groves and forested land, while the cause remains unclear.

According to official information, the massive fire was extinguished after an operation that lasted more than four hours and also involved an Air Tractor aircraft.
The scale of the fire raises questions about response capacity on the ground, as the flames continued to advance until help arrived from the air.

The fire moved close to homes and oil wells, making the situation especially dangerous for the area. At the same time, the flames also spread into the village cemetery.
According to the official version, the intervention by Patos firefighters managed to halt the advance of the flames until the firefighting aircraft reached the area.
