Two fire outbreaks within the same day in the Municipality of Cërrik have raised questions about the risk posed by this hot period, especially in areas near homes and private activities. According to the official version, the most dangerous case was recorded in the evening in the village of Shalës, where the flames came close to houses and a service shop.

The evening fire in Shalës, the most critical moment of the day
According to official data, the second fire broke out at around 21:00 in the village of Shalës, Shalës Administrative Unit, within the territory of the Municipality of Cërrik.
The flames grew to a considerable scale and, because of their proximity to homes and a service shop, the situation was considered at risk of spreading and causing greater damage.
Two firefighting teams were deployed on the ground
After the report, firefighting forces and vehicles were sent to the area. According to the authorities, two firefighting teams took part in the intervention to isolate the flames and prevent their advance toward nearby structures.
The official version says the intervention managed to keep the fire away from homes, while the damage was limited to several decorative trees.
Earlier, another fire outbreak in the same municipality
The Shalës case was the second fire recorded during the same day within the territory of the Municipality of Cërrik.
Earlier in the morning, another fire outbreak had been detected in the municipality. According to official notices, it was quickly brought under control and did not cause significant damage.
The causes remain unclear
So far, there is no official information on the causes of the fires. The authorities have not made public any preliminary conclusion on their origin.
The two successive incidents in a single day turn attention to the institutional response to summer fires and the need for full verification, especially when flames approach homes and business activities.
In the preliminary toll, no damage to homes has been reported, but the risk created in Shalës shows how quickly a fire outbreak can get out of control when it breaks out near inhabited areas.
For now, it remains unclear what caused both fires in the territory of Cërrik.
