The protest against the political class in Tirana entered its 130th day, with citizens once again gathering outside the Prime Minister’s Office and repeating that the rallies will continue until their demands are met. Also in focus was the reaction to Sali Berisha’s call for a protest outside parliament, where participants drew a clear line: no political colors.

The next gathering outside the Prime Minister’s Office

Citizens again gathered outside the Prime Minister’s Office building, bringing the number of consecutive protests in the capital to 130. In speeches delivered during the rally, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the political class and reiterated their demands.

The message repeated at the protest was that the movement does not consider its confrontation with institutions to be over and that the gatherings will continue until the demands they have presented receive an answer.

Response to Berisha’s call

On the same day, protesters also commented on the protest announced by the opposition outside parliament on Thursday. Their position was firm: only people who do not appear with political colors will be accepted at that gathering.

This condition highlights their effort to keep the protest away from party logos, in a climate where every public call risks being read as political capital by the usual sides of the Albanian political scene.

March through the streets of the capital

After the speeches outside the Prime Minister’s Office ended, the protesters moved into the streets of Tirana, continuing their march through the capital.

Their movement through the streets marked the continuation of the protest action beyond the symbolic gathering point, on a day characterized by the usual presence of political tension in the city center.

Incident involving the prime minister’s car

During the march, an incident was also recorded: several protesters hit Prime Minister Edi Rama’s car with eggs as it was leaving the Prime Minister’s Office premises.

Beyond that episode, Wednesday’s protest showed that anger toward politics has not faded, while the relationship between protesting citizens and institutions remains filled with distrust.

With the rally held today, this movement marks the 130th day of consecutive protests in Tirana.

The position of refusing party identification remains one of the main lines of this protest, in a landscape where politics often tries to take control of civic discontent.
