The day’s tensions did not remain only outside Parliament. Inside the Assembly chamber as well, the plenary session was marked by verbal clashes and sudden movement near the podium, at a moment when the chair of the session was seeking to move to a vote.

The clash began over the agenda
According to what happened in the chamber, the moment of tension came when Assembly Speaker Niko Peleshi addressed MPs, asking them to get ready to proceed to a vote.
At that moment, “Mundësia” MP Erald Kapri and the head of the Democratic Party’s parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, rose from their seats and went near the podium. Their objection was related to the change in the agenda.
Debate near the podium and the Guard’s intervention
The debate with the chair of the session took place near the podium, shifting attention for a few minutes from the voting procedure to the management of order in the chamber.
Immediately afterward, the Guard intervened. Its presence near the podium made even more visible the political tension surrounding the session.
The situation calmed quickly, but questions remain over how the session was managed
Despite the clash, the situation calmed quickly. No prolonged incidents beyond the moment of debate and the Guard’s approach were reported.
Nevertheless, such episodes raise fresh questions about how procedures are managed in the Assembly, especially when changes to the agenda are opposed by the opposition and the chamber moves within seconds from voting to institutional tension.
Footage from the session confirmed that the charged political climate was not limited only to outside Parliament, but was also reflected inside the chamber itself, where normal proceedings had been expected.
In the official version, the Guard’s intervention was immediate and the situation was quickly stabilized, but the moment showed once again how easily a session can slide from parliamentary debate into a clash over control of the agenda.
