An open line of investigation in the United Arab Emirates is raising serious suspicions over the in-flight incident during a FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Israel. According to the official version made public by the prosecution, the suspected pilot intended to crash the aircraft into the passenger terminal at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

Authorities allege a scenario aimed at mass casualties
According to a statement by the UAE attorney general, the preliminary investigation is examining suspicions of a premeditated plot with terrorist objectives. At the center of this version is the claim that the suspect sought to take control of the aircraft and use it in a suicide attack.
Along the same lines, authorities claim the suspected target was the passenger terminal at Ben Gurion Airport, with the aim of causing as many casualties as possible. For now, these remain investigative allegations and not conclusions proven in court.
What is known so far about the suspect
According to CNN reporting, the person identified by authorities as the suspect is Hammam Al Hammami. So far, no further details have been made public to clarify his role beyond the version presented by investigators.
There is also still no court ruling on the case. That keeps the episode at the level of a serious criminal suspicion, while the burden of proof remains with the investigation.
The investigation remains open
Authorities in the UAE say they are continuing checks to clarify the circumstances of the incident, the possible motives and the way the attack is suspected to have been planned. The focus of the investigation is on the chain of events that, according to them, may have led to the attempt to use the aircraft as a weapon.
The fact that the case is still at a preliminary stage leaves a wide margin of uncertainty over what actually happened on board and over how many of the elements raised so far will withstand criminal verification.
For now, the published version is based on the UAE authorities’ announcement and CNN’s reporting, while definitive proof remains a matter for the investigation and the court process.
The incident has taken on high security significance because of the destination and the nature of the suspicions, but the full picture has not yet been completed.
