Public transport in Tirana has been suspended for this Thursday, in a disruption that comes after protests and reported tensions in the country. According to publicly released information, some of the buses were left damaged, blocking their normal deployment on routes.

Service was halted from the morning
This morning, buses appeared ready to continue service, but circulation did not take place. The reason given is linked to the damage some vehicles suffered during the violent episodes reported at the protest.
The suspension has been announced as a measure only for today, while citizens have faced immediate difficulties moving around the capital.
Kamza line operating on a limited route
Unlike the rest of the urban transport network, buses on the Kamza line continued operating only as far as the Kthesa e Kamzës area.
This means the service did not function along the full route, but in a limited form.
Return to normal expected tomorrow
For tomorrow, city bus circulation is expected to continue normally.
However, this remains a projection, and the full operation of the lines will depend on the condition of the vehicles and the organization of operators after the reported damage.
The suspension of public transport, even when it lasts only one day, exposes how fragile this service remains in the face of serious events on the ground.
For the citizens of Tirana, the problem is not only the protest, but also the fact that one such blow is enough to immediately throw movement in the capital into gridlock.
