The protest outside the Ministry of Education has entered its sixth day, with the participation of students and other citizens, while symbolic tensions have also been seen on the ground, showing the level of dissatisfaction with the institutions.

The sixth day of gathering outside the ministry
This Sunday as well, protesters began gathering near the Ministry of Education. At the scene, young people were seen both with and without masks, as well as participants holding national flags in their hands.
According to footage and reports from the protest, the crowd voiced calls for the prime minister’s resignation, shifting the dissatisfaction beyond the ministry’s formal address.
Symbolic gesture in the middle of the protest
One of the protesters drew attention after, as a sign of revolt, he tore up the certificate that had previously been awarded to him as a winner of the History Olympiad.
The document, according to a statement made at the protest, had been signed by former Minister of Education Besa Shahini. The gesture was presented as a symbolic rejection of the way institutions and their representation are being perceived by some young people.
Calls against escalation
Before tearing up the certificate, the young man called on protesters not to use violence against Police officers.
He also called on law enforcement not to use violence against protesters, a message that comes in a tense climate, where the relationship between citizens at the protest and the police remains one of the most sensitive issues.
The protest has continued for six days and the presence of citizens near the Ministry of Education shows that the dissatisfaction is not fading easily.
In the absence of a political response addressing the core of the revolt, the symbolism of such public acts is itself becoming the news of the day.
