One night of heavy rainfall was enough for several roads and neighborhoods in Vlora to be covered by water, once again highlighting the fragility of urban infrastructure in the face of intense rain. Traffic was disrupted for hours, while tourists were also seen entering the accumulated water on flooded streets.

Rain began around midnight
According to the reported data, the rainfall began around midnight and lasted nearly two hours, causing flooding problems in several neighborhoods and streets in the city of Vlora.
In some areas, water on the road surface made it difficult for vehicles and pedestrians to move, at least temporarily.
Images of tourists amid the water on the streets
During the night, footage was also recorded of foreign tourists entering the water that had accumulated on the streets and playing in it.
The images contrast with the situation on the ground, where the rainfall caused significant disruption to traffic and the normal functioning of several parts of the city.
Services intervened during the night
According to the official version, employees of the Water Supply and Sewerage utility worked throughout the night to remove water from the affected areas.
By this morning, the water had receded from the streets and traffic for vehicles and residents in the affected areas had returned to normal.
The rapid flooding after only a few hours of rain remains a clear signal of the problems that emerge whenever rainfall intensifies in coastal cities such as Vlora.
Even when the situation returns to normal by late morning, such episodes raise questions about the preparedness of the drainage network and the ability of services to handle such loads in a sustainable way.
