After being rejected twice by protesters, Edi Rama has chosen to publicly renew his call for dialogue, but with new symbolism outside the Prime Minister’s Office. Instead of the chairs used earlier, concrete benches marked “dialogue” have now been placed there, in a move that comes after the previous items were destroyed during the protests.

Another public message from the Prime Minister’s Office

According to the video published by the prime minister, the call for dialogue with protesters remains in force even after two consecutive rejections. Rama repeated the message publicly, once again shifting the focus to the symbolism placed in front of the Prime Minister’s Office building.

In the footage released, concrete benches bearing the inscription “dialogue” appear in front of the government headquarters, as the new element used to accompany this political appeal.

From chairs to concrete benches

This time, the change is directly linked to what happened in the previous two episodes. According to the version published, protesters destroyed the chairs that had earlier been placed in the same area.

The placement of the concrete benches appears to be a response to those events, turning the message of dialogue into a stronger symbolic act, but also a more rigid one in form.

Political message against a backdrop of tension

The move comes in a climate of open confrontation between the government and the protesters, where the invitation to dialogue has been repeated by the prime minister, while on the ground the rejection has been shown not only politically, but also physically through the destruction of the items placed for that purpose.

In this context, the concrete benches are read not simply as urban furnishings, but as another political staging built by the prime minister’s office to keep the narrative of dialogue alive, despite the fact that the opposing side has not accepted it so far.

At this point, the new element in the courtyard of the Prime Minister’s Office is precisely the replacement of the chairs with concrete benches marked “dialogue.”

The political message remains the same, but its form has become noticeably stronger and more durable than in previous cases.
