Two adventure motorcyclists have been reported missing in the area of Maja e Jezercës, one of the most difficult sections of the Albanian Alps, triggering a search-and-rescue operation on the ground.
Alarm over loss of contact
The report of lost contact with the two motorcyclists has mobilized the structures engaged in emergencies and search and rescue. At this stage, public information remains limited and no further details have been made known about the circumstances of their disappearance.
The Jezercë area is known for rugged terrain and difficult access, making any such operation complicated and its pace dependent on conditions on the ground.
Police and rescue teams in operation
According to the official version, State Police forces and Albanian search-and-rescue teams have been engaged in the search. The operation is taking place in one of the harshest mountain areas in the country.

Team from Kosovo also assisting
Also mobilized in support of the operation is the Motorcyclists Department of the Kosovo Search and Rescue Association. According to the association’s own announcement, its teams are on the ground and are working on the search, orientation and localization of the two motorcyclists.
The involvement of additional teams shows the difficulty of intervening in this area, where the mountainous relief often slows ground checks and limits the rapid movement of rescue groups.
Terrain conditions remain the main obstacle
