Several fire hotspots were reported overnight in Shkodra County, in the areas of Vau i Dejes, Shkodra and Malësi e Madhe. According to the official version, some of them were brought under control within a few hours, but the operation in Vau i Dejes is still ongoing.
The hotspots flared up overnight in several areas of the county
The fires affected several points across the territory of Shkodra County, including Vau i Dejes, the Municipality of Shkodra and Malësi e Madhe. Authorities said the intervention began during the night, in a situation that required the immediate engagement of local structures.
According to the official statement, some of the hotspots were brought under control within a few hours. However, the fact that one hotspot remains active in Vau i Dejes shows that the danger has not been fully eliminated.
In Vau i Dejes, the operation is still ongoing
In this area, around 30 firefighter personnel worked throughout the night. Also deployed on the ground were teams from the Fire Protection and Rescue Service of Shkodra, Puka and Fushë-Arrëz, as well as personnel and one firefighting vehicle from the Armed Forces.
According to the authorities, the intervention made it possible to isolate the fire, avoid danger to homes and protect the route of the transmission line. Despite this, one hotspot remains active and the work to extinguish it has not been completed.
Institutional coordination and the real test on the ground
The Prefecture of Shkodra County said that, in cooperation with the National Civil Emergency Agency, it continued coordinating local and central operational forces. In such cases, statements on coordination remain important, but the real test remains the full control of active hotspots.
The operation has involved firefighters, the Armed Forces, Civil Emergency structures, the forestry service, Police and volunteer residents. Their engagement has been decisive in containing the spread of the flames in endangered areas.
What is known so far
At this stage, according to local authorities, the fires in Shkodra and Malësi e Madhe have been brought under control, while the unresolved problem remains in Vau i Dejes.
The toll so far points to the isolation of the flames and the avoidance of danger to homes, but the situation cannot be considered closed as long as one hotspot continues to remain active.
The Prefect of Shkodra, Holta Duda, thanked firefighter personnel, the Armed Forces, Civil Emergency structures, the forestry service, Police and volunteer residents for their engagement in the operation.
On the ground, the focus remains on the full extinguishment of the remaining hotspot in Vau i Dejes.
