Priskë e Madhe fire spirals out of control, one house burns and families evacuated

Flames spread toward residential areas

Fire hotspots have spread in several directions, affecting large areas of vegetation and olive groves. The situation is problematic because of the continued expansion of the flames and their proximity to residential areas.

The spread toward Lundra has significantly increased concern among residents, while thick smoke is creating further difficulties in the area.

One house burns, three families leave for safety

Developments on the ground indicate that an uninhabited house has burned down. Three families have also been evacuated for safety reasons, while the risk to other properties remains high as long as the fire hotspots have not been fully contained.

The preliminary toll shows that the damage is not limited only to vegetation, but has already affected private property as well.

Residents raise alarm over livestock left in the forest

According to local residents, dozens of livestock animals have been left trapped in forest areas affected by the flames. There are suspicions that some of them may have died, but there is still no official confirmation of this.

This further worsens the situation, as the possible damage is not limited to land and olive groves, but also affects the livelihoods of families in the area.

Intervention from air and ground, but fire remains active

According to the official version, the response is continuing both on the ground and from the air. Two helicopters have been deployed in the operation, taking on water from Farka Lake and operating over the fire hotspots.

Ground forces are also in the field, with the objective of isolating the flames and preventing their spread toward residential areas. However, the fact that the fire has continued for days and has expanded its perimeter leaves open questions about the effectiveness of the management of the situation.

The fire in Priskë e Madhe remains a real threat to residents, property and the household economy of the area. With the flames having spread in several directions and the damage already visible, the situation requires more than reassuring statements and partial intervention.
