High temperatures and wind are keeping the wildfire map active in several counties across the country, while the balance reported by institutions shows the situation remains far from normalized. According to the Ministry of Defense, 31 fire outbreaks had been reported by 18:00, with 14 of them still active.
Official toll: 18 identified outbreaks, 14 active
The official version speaks of 18 outbreaks currently identified, of which 14 are active, 2 under monitoring and 2 under control. At the same time, authorities acknowledge that high temperatures and wind have affected not only the spread of the flames, but also the reignition of areas that had previously been considered under control.
In ground operations, according to the Ministry of Defense, local and central structures have been engaged, while the Armed Forces alone account for 309 personnel, 22 vehicles, 1 water tanker, 3 ambulances, 9 fire engines, 3 helicopters and 2 Air Tractor aircraft.
Lurë and Elbasan, two of the most difficult points
In Gurë-Lurë, Dibër, the fire continues with high intensity in two directions. According to official data, the perimeter near homes has been brought under control, preventing them from burning, while the operation includes 120 municipal personnel, 57 Armed Forces personnel, 15 police officers, 15 volunteers and 9 employees of the Protected Areas Administration, with support from 2 Air Tractor aircraft.
The situation is more severe in Lugaxhi, Elbasan, where the fire has spread into the pine canopies. On the ground, 6 firefighters, 6 forestry personnel, 5 employees of the public health service, 5 municipal personnel and 30 volunteers have been engaged, along with support from the Cërrik fire service. In Shalës, Cërrik, a new fire outbreak has also been identified, where 3 personnel are operating with 1 fire vehicle.
Tirana, Krujë, Përmet and Mirditë: operations on several fronts
In Dajt, above the Qafë-Molla tunnels, 20 firefighters and 10 Protected Areas Administration personnel are working, with support from 2 Armed Forces helicopters. Meanwhile, on the Priskë e Madhe-Gurrë-Farkë-Lundër axis, 40 firefighters with 8 fire vehicles, 25 volunteers and 2 helicopters are operating. According to the official report, there is no danger to inhabited areas.
In Abaze, Krujë, the fire remains active and is being aided by the wind, while intervention is also being carried out with 1 helicopter. In Nëmerçkë and Dhëmbel, Përmet, several fire outbreaks continue in forest and pasture areas, in difficult terrain. In Trojë, Mirditë, work is also continuing to isolate the fire outbreak with municipal forces, police, volunteers and Armed Forces personnel.
Outbreaks under control and areas under monitoring
In Finiq, according to authorities, firefighters from several municipalities are operating in Dhivër with 5 vehicles and 10 personnel, municipal forces and 1 Armed Forces helicopter. The outbreak in Rumanxë is reported to have been fully extinguished, while the one in Dhrovjan is under control.
In Mallakastër-Patos, the outbreaks in Drenie, Lofkënd and Ngraçije have been isolated and are being kept under monitoring, while work continues in the Gjinoqarë forest economy area. Likewise, in Kryezi, Fushë-Arrëz, the outbreak is under control, while in Rrencë and Goraj-Budishtë the operation for full isolation continues. However, other official reports show that the fire in Mallakastër is expanding, making the situation still unstable.
The overall picture remains problematic: many fronts open at the same time, outbreaks reactivating and areas where control is declared partial, not final.
Beyond the figures published by institutions, the real test remains on the ground, where wind, temperatures and the lack of full stabilization are keeping the situation fragile in several counties.
