The wildfire situation remains problematic in several areas of the country, although the official version speaks of partial control over some perimeters. During the past 24 hours, 29 fire hotspots were reported, of which 11 remain active, while the main focus remains on areas where the flames have approached inhabited terrain or are spreading in conditions that make intervention difficult.
Latest tally: 29 hotspots reported, 11 still active
According to the Ministry of Defense, 29 wildfire hotspots were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours. Of these, 11 remain active, 3 are under monitoring, and 4 are considered under control.
On the ground, 249 firefighters, 48 police officers, 233 municipal personnel, AdZM staff, Forestry Service staff and ASHP staff, as well as 206 volunteers and 118 members of the Armed Forces, have been deployed.
Ground and air assets deployed, but some areas remain exposed
Operations are using 43 fire engines. The Armed Forces have also made available 9 firefighting vehicles, 4 water tankers, 3 ambulances, 3 helicopters, and 2 Air Tractor aircraft.
Despite this deployment, fires in several counties remain active, showing that ground capacities are being seriously tested, especially where the terrain makes it difficult to isolate the flames.
Gurë-Lura, the most sensitive operation near homes
One of the most sensitive points remains Gurë-Lura in Dibër, where according to the authorities the perimeter near homes has been brought under control, avoiding direct danger to them.
In this operation, 120 municipal personnel, 57 members of the Armed Forces, 15 police officers, 15 volunteers, and 9 AdZM employees have been engaged. Two Air Tractor aircraft also intervened from the air, while work continues in two other directions where the fire still remains intense.
Active hotspots from Dajti to Përmet, Shkodër and Elbasan
Intervention continues in Dajt in the area above the Qafë-Molla tunnels. According to the authorities, there is currently no danger to inhabited areas, while the situation is also being monitored in Priskë e Madhe.
In Gjirokastër County, the hotspots on Mount Nëmërçka and Mount Dhëmbel in Përmet remain active, where difficult terrain is preventing full intervention. Authorities report that there is no danger to homes.
Active hotspots are also reported at Qafa e Helmes in Bulqizë, in Troje of Mirdita, in Rrencë and Goraj-Budishtë in Shkodër, as well as in Dardhë of Librazhd and in Shalës of Cërrik. In some of these areas, there is talk of partial isolation, but not final extinguishing.
Continuous monitoring, but the fires are not over
According to civil protection structures, operations are continuing in a coordinated manner from the ground and the air. In some areas, intervention has helped protect homes and limit the spread of the flames.
The National Civil Protection Agency is keeping the situation under monitoring through the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies. However, the fact that 11 hotspots remain active shows that the danger has not passed and that the situation in several counties remains fragile.
At this stage, the picture remains mixed: some perimeters have been contained, but some of the hotspots continue to burn forest and hilly terrain in several counties of the country.
Beyond the official tallies, the real test remains on the ground: how quickly the flames can be isolated and whether capacities are sufficient to avoid greater damage.
