The 78th day of protest in Tirana once again saw the capital gather for a rally and march toward the Prime Minister’s Office, as participants repeated their demands for the government’s resignation and the removal of the political class. The rally has continued for weeks along the same route and with an unchanged political message.
The gathering began in Skanderbeg Square
Protesters once again gathered in Skanderbeg Square, the daily starting point of the rally in the capital.
From there they marched toward the Prime Minister’s Office building, turning the protest into a focused demonstration in front of the highest executive institution.
Calls for resignation and a technical government
In front of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s office, demonstrators continued their calls for resignation and their demand for the removal of the government.
Along the same lines, they also called for the removal of the political class and the establishment of a technical government, presenting the protest as direct opposition to the current model of governance.
Diaspora again joined the protest
On this day of protest as well, participants from the diaspora were present, joining the rally in Tirana.
According to statements by protesters at the scene, the resistance will continue until the government is brought down.
The protest on the 78th day confirmed the continuation of mobilization in central Tirana and the maintaining of political pressure in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
It remains to be seen whether this prolonged pace of gatherings will produce any institutional response beyond silence or the usual political routine.
