A serious accident claimed the life of journalist Enrik Mehmeti on Saturday evening in the Porto Nova beach area in Zvërnec.
According to preliminary information, the 40-year-old was driving a four-wheeled motor vehicle when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle. After the maneuver, it overturned several times, causing fatal consequences.
Preliminary sources say that during the accident, Mehmeti was struck heavily in the chest by a metal part of the vehicle, suffering severe injuries.
Emergency medical teams arrived at the scene immediately, but despite efforts to save his life, the journalist did not survive the injuries he sustained.
Police have launched an investigation to fully clarify the circumstances and causes of the accident, while a technical examination of the vehicle is also expected.
