New details are emerging from the hostage-taking of 24-year-old Rozalinda Plaka in Vidhishtë, Roskovec, as police have made public their account of the hours of negotiations with the suspected perpetrator, Refit Buzi. At the center of the account is the head of the Roskovec Police Station, Mariglen Koroveshaj, who says he approached the vehicle alone and without a weapon, as this was the condition set by the hostage-taker.
Police say the perpetrator set the conditions for the approach
According to Koroveshaj’s statements, the negotiations lasted for several hours, and the perpetrator himself requested that only he approach the vehicle. Under the same account, the other condition was that the officer be unarmed.
Police claim the request was accepted to avoid further escalating the situation and to protect the life of the 24-year-old woman. For now, this remains the official account of how one of the day’s most serious episodes in Roskovec was managed.

Koroveshaj said he came to within about two meters of the vehicle where the young woman was being held hostage. At the same time, according to him, the operation was being monitored by the RENEA special forces.
He says that at the moment of the approach, Refit Buzi warned him not to take another step, threatening that he would kill himself. After that, the negotiations continued until the hostage was released.
The condition of the 24-year-old after her release
After getting out of the vehicle, Rozalinda Plaka was in severe psychological distress and had physical injuries, according to what police have made public. The station chief said the young woman was unable to walk.
