A fire accompanied by an explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Shkozet has paralyzed traffic on some of the busiest routes in the area. According to the official Police announcement, vehicle movement has been suspended on several key segments until the situation is stabilized.
Which routes have been blocked
According to Police, traffic has been blocked on the city ring road, at the Shkozet overpass, on the “Martin Camaj” road segment toward Plepat, as well as on the Kavaje-Durres segment.
These are key traffic junctions at the entrances and exits of Durres, which is expected to worsen congestion and detours in the area.
Police call on drivers
The State Police have asked citizens and drivers to avoid traveling on these road axes and to use alternative routes.
This is, so far, the official version regarding traffic management, while no further details have yet been given on the duration of the blockage.
What is happening on the ground
According to the authorities, Police services, firefighting forces and other responsible structures are on the ground to bring the situation under control.
Institutions say work is underway to extinguish the fire, guarantee safety and restore traffic as quickly as possible. Until full normalization, the area remains problematic for vehicle movement.
