The latest attempt to unblock the formation of institutions in Kosovo has once again ended without result. Albin Kurti and Lumir Abdixhiku met on Wednesday afternoon, but this round of talks also failed to produce an agreement between the two sides.
Second meeting ends without a deal
According to reports from Prishtina, the meeting between Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti and Democratic League of Kosovo leader Lumir Abdixhiku ended without an agreement on the establishment of institutions.
This was their second meeting in an effort to find a political formula, but once again the sides left without a concrete result.
Kurti’s statement after the meeting
After leaving the meeting, Kurti gave a brief comment, indicating that the negotiations have still not produced anything tangible.
“We have no news, as long as we have no agreement. Yes, when we finalize an agreement, we will be able to inform you,” he said.
The first attempt had also failed
A day earlier, Kurti and Abdixhiku had also met at the premises of the Assembly of Kosovo, but that meeting likewise did not bring an agreement on the formation of institutions.
The repetition of a meeting without result deepens the political uncertainty and leaves expectations for a quick solution between the two political forces hanging.
For the moment, talks between LVV and LDK remain without a political outcome, while the process of establishing institutions continues to be blocked.
