The political crisis in Kosovo is entering another phase of institutional tension. Deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosovo continued their action on Thursday outside the Government building, blocking the entrances in protest over the failure to continue the constitutive session of the Assembly.
Blockade outside the Government building
PDK’s action was again held in front of the Kosovo Government building, where deputies from this political force blocked the entrances as a form of political pressure on the institutions.
Deputies from the Alliance also joined the protest, while PDK municipal assembly members from the Municipality of Vushtrri were also present on the ground.
Call to unblock the Assembly
For several days, PDK has been holding consecutive protests and actions demanding that the continuation of the constitutive session of the Assembly be called as soon as possible.
According to the party’s position, the delay in the process is preventing the creation of new institutions and keeping the country in a prolonged political deadlock.
Accusations against Vetëvendosje and Kurti
PDK has repeatedly called on the chair of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, to set its continuation.
Also, according to PDK’s accusations, the Vetëvendosje Movement and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti are keeping the country’s institutions blocked.
Alliance also opposes the delay
The Alliance has also spoken out against delays in the process of constituting the Assembly, calling for the full institutional functionality of Kosovo to be restored as quickly as possible.
Its involvement in the protest outside the Government building broadens the opposition front at a time when the process of establishing new institutions remains suspended.
The political deadlock in Kosovo has been continuing for some time, while the Assembly has still not completed the constitution process.
This situation is also keeping the next steps toward forming new institutions on hold, pushing the crisis from the parliamentary chamber toward open political confrontation on the ground.
