The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) again appeared outside the Government building with the same political message: to unblock the process of forming institutions and to convene the continuation of the constitutive session. PDK’s pressure comes at a time when the clash over responsibility for the institutional deadlock is also unfolding on the ground, not only in political chambers.
PDK returns outside the Government with the same demand
PDK lawmakers again positioned themselves in front of the entrance to the Kosovo Government building, calling for the constitutive session of the Assembly to be convened and for the process of creating new institutions to continue.
According to their statements, the demand remains unchanged: the formation of institutions must not be blocked. The appearance outside the executive building was used as an act of public pressure on the majority and on the way the institutional calendar is being managed.
Political accusations against Kurti over blocking the process
From the Government headquarters, PDK lawmakers said acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti was not at his workplace. This was another element the opposition used to reinforce the accusation that the process is being politically held hostage.
At this stage, the claims of obstruction remain part of the political clash between the sides, while the decision on continuing the session is directly tied to parliamentary procedures and the role of its leadership.
Official request submitted to the Assembly
After standing outside the Government building, PDK representatives announced that they would move to the Assembly to continue pressing their demands. The party then officially submitted the request for the continuation of the constitutive session.
Lawmaker Përparim Gruda said the request was addressed to the chair of the session, Avni Dehari, seeking the continuation of the constitutive session on August 14.
Gruda’s call: allow the Assembly to convene
In addition to submitting the request, Gruda called on lawmaker Albin Kurti to allow Avni Dehari to convene the continuation of the constitutive session.
With this move, PDK is trying to shift the debate from political rhetoric to a concrete procedural act: whether or not the Assembly will convene on August 14. That is precisely where it will be measured whether the deadlock will be resolved or deepen even further.
For now, PDK’s request has been submitted and the political pressure has been made public, but it remains to be seen whether there will be a decision to continue the constitutive session.
At the heart of the clash remains the same problem: delays in establishing institutions and the struggle to control the pace of the parliamentary process.
