A fire that engulfed the Uji i Ftohtë area in Vlorë caused alarm in one of the coast’s busiest spaces during the tourist season. According to official information, the flames were brought under control after more than 30 minutes of intervention.

Flames near the tourist area
The fire threatened several bars, restaurants and hotels in Uji i Ftohtë, an area with a high flow of holidaymakers and visitors at this time of year.
The presence of flames near tourism businesses immediately raised concern about safety on the ground, especially in an area where foot traffic is heavy throughout the day.
Tourists left in alarm
Because of the situation, tourists and holidaymakers temporarily left venues near the area affected by the fire.
Their departure came amid the alarm created by the flames and the risk that they could move even closer to surrounding businesses.
Some businesses left without power
As a result of the fire, some businesses in the area were also temporarily left without electricity.
The outage added to the difficulties in an important segment for tourism activity, while the full material damage has not yet been made clear.
Causes still unclear
According to the official version, the intervention of firefighters made it possible to isolate the flames and the situation is moving toward normalization.
However, the causes of the fire are still not known. Authorities are expected to begin checks to determine the circumstances of the incident, a key point beyond the announcement that the fire was brought under control.
So far, there is no information about injured people.
Pending clarification of the causes, it remains to be seen whether there will be any concrete responsibility for an incident that once again exposed the vulnerability of tourist areas in the face of emergencies.
