The wave of fires is keeping several counties across the country under pressure, while the toll reported by authorities stands at 27 hotspots, 8 of which remain active. According to the official version, the most problematic situation is in Lezha, where the response has been reinforced with military troops, firefighting vehicles and air support.
The toll reported by authorities
State structures report that 17 hotspots have been fully extinguished, 2 are being kept under monitoring, and 8 others remain active.
According to authorities, 265 operational personnel and 38 firefighting vehicles have been deployed in field operations. Support has also been increased with 170 military personnel, 3 firefighting vehicles from the Armed Forces, and Air Force helicopter intervention in 4 operations.
The counties where the response is concentrated
The main focus has been on Dibër, Lezha, Tirana and Shkodra, where some of the hotspots have required greater engagement on the ground.
In Dibër, operations are continuing in Vajkal, Lundre–Madhesh and Mallunxë–Lis. According to authorities, ground forces are working in these areas with air support in the Mat area, while no risk to inhabited areas has been reported.
Reactivation in Dajt, with no risk to homes according to authorities
In Dajt, a fire hotspot has reactivated. Sixty personnel have been deployed for the response.
The official version says that, despite the reactivation, there is no danger to inhabited areas.
Lezha in focus after residents evacuated
The hottest point remains Lezha County, especially the Kalivaç–Zimaj–Kashnjet area, where the situation has also forced the evacuation of residents.
In this area, according to official data, the response has been reinforced with 2 Air Force helicopters, 50 military personnel and 3 firefighting vehicles, alongside local structures. The fact that evacuation was required shows the level of pressure the fire has created on the ground.
Intensity decreases in Vau i Dejës
In Mnelë e Vogël, in Vau i Dejës, authorities report that the intensity of the fire has decreased.
According to them, the danger to inhabited areas has been averted, while work continues to fully extinguish the hotspot.
The current toll points to a situation that remains unstable in several areas, despite the large number of forces engaged.
The main weight of the emergency remains in Lezha, where the fire has moved from routine management to stronger measures, including the removal of residents from the threatened area.
