Police have escorted Jozefin Marku after the publication of a video in which he appears together with other people assaulting Edi Kuçi. The official version says Marku was found in Fushë-Krujë after a series of home searches and amid suspicions that he was trying to avoid contact with police.
Initial search in Fushë-Kuqe
According to information made public by police, the first search was carried out at Jozefin Marku’s home in Fushë-Kuqe, but he was not found there.
After that, according to the same version, 10 other searches were conducted at the homes of his friends, indicating that police looked for him at several addresses before locating him.
Found at a friend’s home in Fushë-Krujë
Marku was found at the home of his friend, Kristian Nikolli, in Fushë-Krujë, where he was escorted by police.
At the moment he was identified by officers, he rejected the idea that he had been hiding. According to his statement, he was there “for pleasure” and would have gone to the police himself if he had known he was being sought.
Five people wanted
In the same case, police have also declared five other people wanted.
Authorities say work is continuing to identify other people who may have been involved in the episode of violence against Edi Kuçi.
The incident drew attention after the publication of the video of the assault, while police actions are being presented through the official version as a search operation at several addresses.
