A 30-year-old man from Kukës has been brought to Albania from Dubai in an operation that authorities describe as part of cooperation between Albanian Interpol and its counterpart in Abu Dhabi. According to the official version, he had been declared internationally wanted for illegal possession of weapons and domestic violence.

Police announce extradition from Dubai
According to the Police announcement, the procedure for the extradition from Dubai of Bamir Halili (Axhami), 30, born in Kukës, has been completed.
Authorities say the action was carried out as part of the code-named operation “The Wanted,” following information-sharing and operational coordination between specialists of the Interpol Directorate and Interpol Abu Dhabi.
Why the 30-year-old was wanted
According to authorities, Bamir Halili had been internationally wanted after the security measure of “arrest in prison” had been assigned against him by the Kukës Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in 2024.
The charges against him, according to the decision referenced by police, are “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition” as well as “Domestic violence.”
What is known so far
The official announcement gives no further details on the specific circumstances of the incidents for which the 30-year-old is accused, nor on the procedural stage the case is expected to follow after his arrival in Albania.
At this stage, the accusations remain those referred to by law enforcement bodies and linked to the security measure imposed by the Kukës court.
The extradition comes at a time when authorities often present international search operations as an indicator of efficiency, but public information remains limited beyond the standard formulas of police announcements.
For now, the officially confirmed element is that the wanted 30-year-old has been returned to Albania to face the security measure and the charges brought against him.
