An explosion involving explosive material was recorded on Thursday evening in the “Qemal Stafa” neighborhood of Shkodër, hitting the yard of Meti Bushati’s home. So far, no one has been injured, but the case once again raises questions about security and the authorities’ ability to prevent such incidents even when it comes to families with no problematic profile in the community.

According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred at around 9:30 p.m., when still unidentified persons threw a small amount of explosive material into the yard of the home.
According to the official version, the explosion caused no injuries and only minor material damage was reported.
Who the affected family is
Meti Bushati and his wife are teachers. In the area they are known as a respectable family, which makes the motive for the attack even more unclear at this stage of the investigation.
So far, no element has been made public to indicate the couple’s involvement in any direct conflict.

One of the leads being examined by the investigative group is linked to Meti Bushati’s brother, Gëzim Bushati, who lives in Germany.
