Balliu Accuses Balluku of Witness Intimidation: Why Hasn’t She Been Arrested Yet?

Strong accusations have been leveled by the opposition against Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, in another political clash that puts the focus on justice and the standard of investigations involving senior officials. At the protest near Parliament, Democratic MP Klevis Balliu claimed that an investigative file contains information on threats against witnesses by criminal groups that, according to him, acted in Balluku’s name.

Balliu accuses Balluku of witness intimidation: Why hasn’t she been arrested yet?

Accusations from the protest near Parliament

The statements were made during the protest held near Parliament, where Balliu turned attention to what he presented as the contents of an investigative file.

The Democratic Party lawmaker claimed that it contains information on threats against witnesses, directly linking the issue to Belinda Balluku’s name.

What Balliu said

In his statement, Balliu raised the question of why, under the version he presented, there has still been no arrest of Balluku.

He also referred to assets that he claims were uncovered during the investigation, sharpening his political tone against one of the government’s most important figures.

Serious claims, with no cited response

The opposition MP’s claims are serious in nature, as they touch both on the issue of influence over witnesses and on suspicions that he links to unjustified assets.

The information made public does not include a response from Belinda Balluku, nor a position from the justice authorities regarding the accusations voiced by Balliu.

Pressure on justice and claims requiring verification

Statements of this level, especially when linked to senior government names and criminal groups, require independent verification and institutional transparency, not only protest rhetoric.

For now, in the public sphere we have a political accusation made by the opposition, while the burden of proving or disproving it remains with the investigative institutions and with the facts they choose to make public.

The case brings back to the center the longstanding question of the standard by which senior officials are treated when they are mentioned in files, public accusations, or investigations of major public interest.

Without a clear clarification from the justice system and without transparency about the facts, such accusations remain a serious test for the credibility of institutions.
